  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil over high heat. Add 8 oz of spaghetti, cooking until al dente for about 8–10 minutes. Reserve ½ cup of the pasta water, drain the pasta, and toss with olive oil.
  • In a large skillet, heat 4 tablespoons of butter and 4 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-low heat. Add 6–8 minced garlic cloves and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning and the zest of 2 lemons, cooking for an additional 30 seconds.
  • Pour in the juice of 1 lemon and allow it to simmer for 1–2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the drained pasta to the skillet, gently tossing it in the sauce. Gradually pour in the reserved pasta water, stirring until well combined.
  • Remove from heat and fold in ⅓ cup of chopped fresh parsley. Season with kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste.
