Ingredients
  

For the Marinade

  • 1.5 to 2 pounds pork tenderloin aim for best results
  • ½ cup soy sauce low-sodium if needed
  • ¼ cup hoisin sauce can replace with plum sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey use maple syrup for vegan option
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar apple cider vinegar can work
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil toasted for deeper flavor
  • 3 cloves garlic freshly minced
  • 1 inch fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha adjust to taste

For Garnish

  • 2 tablespoons green onions chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds toasted if available
  • salt and pepper to taste

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and Sriracha to make the marinade.
  • Place the pork tenderloin in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  • Remove the pork from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
  • Sear the pork in a hot skillet with a drizzle of sesame oil for 3–4 minutes on each side.
  • Pour the reserved marinade over the seared pork and transfer the skillet to the oven. Roast for 15–20 minutes until the pork reaches 145°F (63°C), basting halfway through.
  • Remove from the oven and let the pork rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
  • Slice the pork into medallions, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve.

Notes

Marinade overnight for best flavor. Use a meat thermometer to check doneness at 145°F (63°C). Pair with jasmine rice or stir-fried vegetables.
