Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions for Salmon Marinade

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, honey, and lemon juice. Add minced garlic, minced ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (optional). Stir well until smooth.
  • Place the salmon fillet in a shallow dish, skin-side down. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring it's coated. Cover and let marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours.
  • Preheat your grill or oven to 375°F (190°C). If grilling, prepare for direct heat. If baking, line a baking sheet with foil.
  • Remove the salmon from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes. Grill for 4-6 minutes per side, or bake for 15-20 minutes until it flakes easily and reaches 145°F (63°C).
  • Transfer the cooked salmon to a serving platter and serve with sides like steamed veggies or rice.

Notes

For best flavor, allow marination for at least 30 minutes. Store any leftover marinade for up to 3 days in the fridge or freeze for 2 months.
