Preparation Steps

  • In a medium saucepan, combine 1 ¼ cups apple cider, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, and ⅓ cup brown sugar. Stir in the other glaze ingredients and simmer until it thickens.
  • While the glaze reduces, season the chicken thighs with the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons avocado oil in a large skillet and sear the chicken thighs skin-side down until golden brown, flipping to cook the other side.
  • Once both sides are seared, pour the glaze over the chicken in the skillet.
  • Cover and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  • Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
