  • 4 tablespoon Butter for grilling

  • 1 cup Tomatoes sliced
  • 1 cup Arugula or Spinach for a nutritious boost

Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped celery, and diced red onion. Mix in the lemon juice, and season with salt and pepper. Stir until smooth and creamy; set aside.
  • Lay out the eight slices of whole-grain bread. Evenly spread butter on one side of each slice.
  • Preheat a large skillet over medium heat. Drop a bit of butter into the pan to test; it should sizzle gently.
  • Place four slices of the prepared bread, buttered side down, onto the skillet. Top with cheddar cheese, a dollop of the tuna mixture, tomato slices, and arugula. Finish with another slice of cheddar cheese.
  • Carefully place the remaining four slices of bread on top, buttered side up.
  • Grill the sandwiches for about 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and the cheese melts. Flip carefully halfway through.
  • Remove the sandwiches once toasted and the cheese melted. Allow to cool for a minute before cutting in half diagonally.

Notes

Use the freshest ingredients for the best flavor. Be careful with the grilling to avoid burning the bread.
