  • Begin by pressing your false, tofu, or tempeh to remove any excess moisture; cut into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a medium bowl, combine all-purpose flour with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  • In another bowl, crack and lightly whisk the eggs until frothy.
  • In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs and mix in dried oregano and dried thyme.
  • Dip each piece of false into the flour mixture, then the egg wash, and finally roll in the herbed breadcrumbs.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet or deep fryer until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  • Carefully place the breaded false into the hot oil, cooking in batches for 3-4 minutes per side.
  • In a small bowl, mix fresh parsley, basil, and lemon juice to create the zesty herb infusion.
  • Serve hot, drizzling the zesty herb infusion generously over the top.
