  • 4 cups diced potatoes for a hearty base
  • 1 lb ground meat beef, turkey, or chicken
  • 1 cup chopped vegetables bell peppers, onions, or carrots
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder for aromatic depth
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder enhances savory profile
  • 1 teaspoon paprika adds mild smokiness
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or mozzarella

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add your diced potatoes. Sauté for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown and fork-tender. Transfer to a plate to keep warm.
  • In the same skillet, add your choice of ground meat and increase the heat to medium-high. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart until browned and no longer pink. Drain excess fat if needed and stir in the cooked potatoes.
  • Toss in your chopped vegetables along with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Sauté for about 4-5 minutes until tender and vibrant.
  • Return the cooked potatoes to the skillet with the meat and vegetables, stirring well to combine. Simmer on low heat for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the mixture. Cover with a lid and reduce heat to low. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Notes

For best results, cut potatoes uniformly. You can also switch the meat or cheese types based on preference. Store leftovers in airtight containers for up to 3 days.
