Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Gather and prepare ingredients: wash and peel potatoes and carrots, cutting into 1-inch cubes. Chop onion, mince garlic, and grate ginger.
  • Place beef short ribs in slow cooker bone-side down. Arrange potatoes and carrots around the ribs.
  • In a bowl, mix soy sauce, beef broth, honey (or pear), sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper until combined.
  • Pour sauce over ribs and vegetables, ensuring everything is coated. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
  • After 6 hours, check that short ribs are fork-tender. Cook an additional hour if needed.
  • Serve over rice, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
