Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground Beef or Ground Turkey
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning
  • 1 cup Mexican Blend Cheese
  • 1 can Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
  • Optional Sour Cream
  • Optional Chopped Cilantro
  • Optional Salsa

Instructions

  • Begin by cooking your ground beef or turkey in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Use a spatula to crumble the meat as it cooks for about 5-7 minutes, or until it is no longer pink. Once cooked through, drain any excess grease and sprinkle in the taco seasoning, stirring well to ensure all the meat is coated. Set the mixture aside to cool completely so the cheese doesn’t melt prematurely.
  • After the meat mixture has cooled, mix in the Mexican blend cheese. Stir well until the cheese is evenly distributed throughout the meat.
  • Next, carefully unroll the Pillsbury crescent roll dough and separate it into squares.
  • Now, take a generous spoonful of the cooled meat and cheese mixture and place it directly in the center of each dough square.
  • To seal the taco bombs, bring the corners of the dough up to the center and twist them gently to secure the filling inside. Pinch the seams firmly to ensure nothing leaks out during cooking.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C). Once hot, carefully place the filled doughs in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Once cooked, use tongs to carefully transfer the Easy Air Fryer Taco Bombs to a serving plate. Let them cool for a moment before serving.

Notes

  • Cool Before Cheese: Allow the meat mixture to cool completely before adding cheese to avoid premature melting.
  • Seal Properly: Pinch the seams of the crescent roll dough tightly to prevent any filling from leaking out during cooking.
  • Single Layer Cooking: Place taco bombs in the air fryer in a single layer for even cooking and golden-brown perfection.
  • Don’t Overfill: Be cautious not to overfill the dough with the meat mixture—too much filling can cause the bombs to burst while cooking.
  • Experiment with Fillings: Feel free to use different proteins like shrimp or chicken, or even mix in vegetables for a unique twist.
