Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Start by popping approximately 8 cups of popcorn using an air popper or stovetop method. Heat a large pot over medium-high heat, add 2 tablespoons of butter, and place the kernels, shaking occasionally until popping slows down to 2 seconds between pops, about 3-5 minutes. Transfer the popcorn to a large mixing bowl, ensuring it’s light and fluffy, and set it aside.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 12 ounces of white chocolate and 6 ounces of dark chocolate. Heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely melted and smooth, usually taking about 1 to 1.5 minutes total.
  • Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the popped popcorn. Using a large spatula, gently fold the popcorn into the chocolate until it's fully coated.
  • While the chocolate-coated popcorn is still warm, sprinkle a generous amount of crushed candy canes evenly over the surface, adding a festive touch and a burst of minty flavor. Follow this with a light dusting of sea salt.
  • To set your Peppermint Bark Popcorn, spread the mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet in an even layer. Let it cool for at least 15-20 minutes until the chocolate hardens completely.
  • Once the Peppermint Bark Popcorn is broken into delightful chunks, it’s ready to be served! Present it in festive bowls or pack it into mason jars for gifts.

Notes

Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness. Enjoy within 1 week for the best crunch.
