Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Begin by washing and chopping one head of fresh broccoli into small florets. Steam or boil the broccoli until tender, approximately 4-5 minutes. Once cooked, drain any excess water and let it cool completely before chopping it finely.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped broccoli with shredded sharp cheddar cheese, room temperature eggs, and almond flour. Sprinkle in garlic powder. Mix until the ingredients are fully combined, creating a cohesive batter.
  • Take handfuls of the broccoli mixture and form them into small rounds or patties, about 2 inches in diameter. Press them firmly to hold together during cooking.
  • Heat a generous amount of oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the broccoli cheese rounds without overcrowding. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Transfer the crispy broccoli cheese rounds onto a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Allow them to cool for a couple of minutes before serving warm.
