  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine the cubed white bread and raisins in a large mixing bowl, tossing gently.
  • In a saucepan, heat milk and butter over medium heat until butter melts completely, about 4-7 minutes.
  • Pour the warm milk and butter mixture over the bread and raisin mix; let it sit for 10 minutes.
  • Add sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and nutmeg; stir until well combined.
  • Grease a casserole dish and evenly spread the pudding mixture into it.
  • Bake for 40-50 minutes or until the center feels firm and the top is golden brown.
  • For the caramel, combine butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a saucepan; stir continuously until thickened.
  • Add heavy whipping cream to the caramel and continue cooking until desired consistency is reached.
  • Remove from heat and mix in vanilla extract; let it cool slightly before drizzling over the pudding.
