  • Fork
  • sharp knife
  • piping bag (optional)

Ingredients

For the Filling

  • 6 large eggs use fresh eggs for the best results
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise for a rich and creamy texture
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard adds a hint of tanginess
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar enhances the flavor
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt essential for seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper brings warmth and subtle spice

For Garnishing

  • Paprika sprinkle to add color and a mild smokiness

Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Start by bringing a medium pot of water to a vigorous boil. Once boiling, carefully reduce the heat to low or turn it off. Gently place the eggs into the water using a slotted spoon, ensuring they are fully submerged. Turn the heat back up to high and set a timer for 14 minutes.
  • While the eggs are cooking, prepare an ice water bath in a large mixing bowl filled with cold water and ice to stop the cooking process. Keep an eye on the timer.
  • Once the timer goes off, promptly transfer the eggs from the pot to the ice bath using the slotted spoon and allow them to chill for at least 10 minutes.
  • After the eggs have cooled, tap them gently on the counter to crack the shells. Peel each egg under running water.
  • Scoop out the yolks into a mixing bowl and mash until smooth. Mix in mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper until creamy.
  • Fill the egg whites with the yolk mixture using a spoon or piping bag for presentation.
  • Sprinkle a light dusting of paprika on top of each filled egg white before serving.

Notes

For the best texture, mash yolks thoroughly before mixing in other ingredients to avoid lumps. These can be prepared ahead of time; store the filling separately until right before serving.
