  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup 10.5 ounces
  • ½ cup fried onions plus extra for topping
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil if using fresh mushrooms

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and boil salted water. Blanch green beans for 4-5 minutes, then cool in ice water.
  • Sauté fresh mushrooms in olive oil until tender and moisture evaporates, about 5-7 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Fold in sautéed or canned mushrooms, blanched green beans, and ½ cup of fried onions.
  • Spread the mixture in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbling and cheese is melted.
  • Add more fried onions on top and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes
