Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions for Pineapple Glazed Salmon

  • In a blender or food processor, combine 1 cup of fresh pineapple chunks, ⅓ cup of soy sauce, ¼ cup of honey, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of grated ginger, 2 cloves of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar, and ½ teaspoon of black pepper. Blend until smooth.
  • Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat, aiming for 375°F to 400°F. Lightly oil the grates with olive oil using a paper towel.
  • Place 4 salmon fillets skin-side up in a shallow dish and pour about half of the pineapple glaze over them. Coat thoroughly and let marinate for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Remove the salmon from the marinade, reserving the remaining glaze for basting later. Keep skin-side of fillets dry to ensure crispiness.
  • Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the hot grill. Cook undisturbed for 4 to 5 minutes until edges turn opaque and skin is crispy.
  • Brush the tops of the fillets with reserved glaze after flipping. Grill for another 4 to 5 minutes until done.
  • Once grilled, transfer salmon to a serving platter. Drizzle with remaining glaze and garnish with sesame seeds and green onion.
  • Serve warm alongside fluffy rice or a fresh salad.

Notes

To keep the salmon moist in storage, cover with a damp paper towel.
