Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Paella

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large paella pan over medium heat.
  • Add the chicken pieces to the pan and sear for 5–7 minutes until golden brown.
  • Stir in 1 clove of minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Incorporate 1 cup of diced tomatoes and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  • Pour in 4 cups of chicken or seafood broth, add 1 teaspoon of saffron, salt, and pepper.
  • Reduce heat to low, add 2 cups of rice and 1 cup of chopped vegetables, and simmer.
  • Cover and simmer for 20–25 minutes without stirring.
  • In the last 5 minutes, layer 1 cup of seafood on top and cover again.
  • Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
