Cake Batter

  • 1.5 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 0.33 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup dairy-free chocolate chips optional

Baking Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, sift together the gluten-free flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add in maple syrup, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry mixture and mix until smooth.
  • Fold in dairy-free chocolate chips if desired.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
