  • 1 cup cornstarch for coating
  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 2 large eggs for binding
  • 2 tablespoons water to thin egg wash

  • 2 cloves garlic minced

  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds for crunch
  • 2 tablespoons green onions chopped

Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cut the boneless, skinless chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces.
  • Combine 1 cup of cornstarch, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of pepper in a shallow bowl.
  • In another bowl, whisk together 2 eggs and 2 tablespoons of water until smooth.
  • Dip first in the cornstarch mixture, then in the egg wash, and again in the cornstarch mixture.
  • Arrange the coated chicken pieces on the baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway.
  • In a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, hoisin sauce, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Heat until thickened.
  • Remove baked chicken and toss in the honey garlic sauce until evenly coated.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge. For freezing, cool completely and transfer to a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months.
