Step-by-Step Instructions for Creamy Shrimp Alfredo

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, typically 8 to 10 minutes. Reserve about ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  • In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add 1 pound of shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and ¼ teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Sauté shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque. Set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add 3 minced garlic cloves and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in 1 cup of heavy cream and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Gradually whisk in 1 cup of Parmesan cheese until it melts smoothly. Adjust consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
  • Add the cooked fettuccine and sautéed shrimp to the skillet. Toss gently to coat everything in the creamy sauce and serve hot.

Notes
