  • Heat a dry skillet over medium heat, then add ¼ cup of pine nuts. Stir constantly for about 3 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and fragrant. Keep a close eye to prevent burning. Once toasted, remove them from the skillet and let them cool slightly.
  • In a food processor, combine 2 cups of fresh basil leaves, 2 cloves of garlic, the cooled toasted pine nuts, and ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Add 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, ½ teaspoon of salt, and ¼ teaspoon of black pepper. Pulse the mixture until it becomes coarsely chopped.
