Ingredients
  

For the Base

  • 4 cups Seafood stock the foundation that brings the taste of the ocean
  • 1 cup Heavy cream adds lush creaminess

For the Seafood

  • 1 cup Crab meat look for lump crab for best texture
  • 1 cup Shrimp peeled and deveined; fresh or frozen

For the Aromatics

  • ½ cup Onion finely chopped
  • ¼ cup Celery finely chopped

For the Seasoning

  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning classic seafood flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika adds color and mild smoky taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For Cooking

  • 1 tablespoon Butter for sautéing the aromatics

Cooking Steps

  • In a large pot, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add ½ cup of finely chopped onion and ¼ cup of finely chopped celery. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.
  • Pour in 4 cups of seafood stock and bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
  • Stir in 1 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning, 1 teaspoon of paprika, and salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Gently fold in 1 cup of lump crab meat and 1 cup of peeled and deveined shrimp. Cook for 5-7 minutes until shrimp turn pink.
  • Reduce heat to low and stir in 1 cup of heavy cream. Simmer for another 5 minutes without boiling.
  • Ladle into bowls and serve hot; garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Use fresh seafood for the best flavor. Avoid boiling the cream to maintain its texture. This bisque can be made a day in advance for deeper flavors.
