Step-by-Step Instructions

  • Begin by bringing a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and reserve ½ cup of pasta water.
  • In a large skillet, heat the bacon over medium heat until crispy and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels, leaving the fat in the skillet.
  • To the skillet with bacon fat, add the butter and melt over medium heat. Then add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer and reduce heat to low. Gradually stir in Parmesan cheese until melted. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
