Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions for Chai Tea Latte

  • In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
  • Once the water is boiling, add 2 tablespoons of black tea leaves or 2 tea bags. Reduce the heat slightly and let it steep for 5 minutes.
  • After steeping, stir in 1 teaspoon each of ground cardamom, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Allow the mixture to simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Next, add 1 cup of your preferred milk (or non-dairy alternative) to the spiced tea mixture. Gradually heat this blend over medium heat until it’s hot but not boiling, stirring gently for about 3–4 minutes.
  • Once the spiced milk is warmed through, place a fine-mesh strainer over a large cup or pot and pour the mixture through it.
  • Pour the rich spiced milk mixture back into your cup of strained tea, stirring well to combine the flavors.
  • Finally, serve your homemade chai tea latte warm, perhaps with a light sprinkle of cinnamon on top for that extra touch.

Notes

Serve immediately for the best flavor, and feel free to adjust spices and sweetness to your liking.
