  • Begin by heating 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • While the oil heats, season 4 chicken thighs generously with 2 tablespoons of salt and lightly coat them with 2 tablespoons of flour.
  • Cook the chicken thighs for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they develop a golden-brown crust.
  • In the same skillet, add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder and cook for 1 minute.
  • Gradually pour in 1 cup of chicken broth while stirring constantly.
  • Return the browned chicken thighs to the skillet, cover, and let them simmer for 25-30 minutes.
  • While the chicken simmers, prepare your mashed potatoes according to your preference.
  • Once the mashed potatoes are ready, stir in ½ cup of shredded cheese and ¼ cup of butter.
  • After the chicken has finished cooking, add 1 cup of heavy cream to the skillet and stir.
