Step-by-Step Instructions

  • In a small bowl, mix together 1 cup of warm milk and 3 teaspoons of active dry yeast. Allow this mixture to sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy and bubbly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 3.5 cups of all-purpose flour, 0.25 cup of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  • Add the yeast mixture and 0.25 cup of melted unsalted butter to the flour mixture. Stir until the ingredients come together to form a sticky dough.
  • Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl and cover with a cloth. Allow to rise in a warm area for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough gently to release air bubbles. Divide into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.
  • Brush the tops of the shaped rolls with 0.5 cup of melted garlic butter and allow to rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
